The performance data is organized according to industry. ISN provides the report both in industry-specific formats and in a comprehensive, cross-industry publication. Four oil and gas sectors are represented, as well as the manufacturing, pharmaceutical and facilities management, utilities and power generation, chemical and mining industries. The analysis and key performance indicators presented are summarized by both the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and by ISN Work Types for an additional level of granularity.
"These reports analyze over seven billion hours of work activity in 2012 across nine energy and non-energy industries. The oil and gas industry report specifically represents a 22% increase in work hours from a similar report we published last year," said Dag Yemenu, Vice President of Technical and Customer Services at ISN. "With the growing depth and breadth of data, we are confident that our members will continue to benefit from the insight these comprehensive publications provide."
Among other information, ISN collects health and safety statistics from its member contractors around the globe such as workplace injury and illness rates. Its team of health and safety professionals and statisticians aggregate this data annually and provide insightful reports to targeted industries.
"Pertinent statistics help our contractor customers gauge where their safety performance stands in relation to others in their industry," said Joseph Eastin, President of ISN. "We provide these benchmarking resources to give ISNetworld members another tool to use in their efforts to improve safety in the workplace."
