Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis to celebrate Registered Apprenticeship programs and tour mobile training units on Monday, June 6
WASHINGTON, June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis will be joined by industry leaders and senior administration officials from across the federal government to celebrate 100 years of Registered Apprenticeships and look ahead to their role in continuing to develop a well trained, highly skilled workforce. The event, being held on the National Mall, will highlight the nearly $1 billion annual private sector investments in state of the art worker training made by building and construction trade unions and their contractors. Following remarks from Secretary Solis and industry leaders, attendees are invited to tour on-site demonstrations – including virtual training facilities – to learn more about modern apprenticeship programs.
