Securityholder vote results for Investors Group fund mergers

WINNIPEG, April 30, 2015 /CNW/ - On April 20, 2015, three securityholder meetings took place which did not achieve quorum and were adjourned. At follow-up meetings held yesterday, April 29, 2015, securityholders approved the following mergers:

Investors Short Term Capital Yield Class¹ – Series TJdsc into Investors Mortgage & Short Term Income Fund – Series Jdsc
Investors Capital Yield Class – Series TJnl into Investors Canadian Bond Fund – Series Jnl

The approved mergers are expected to occur after the close of business on May 15, 2015.

Meetings for the following Investors Group merger did not achieve quorum again and will not proceed:

Investors Short Term Capital Yield Class¹ – Series TJnl into Investors Mortgage & Short Term Income Fund – Series Jnl

Merger benefits

The approved mergers are expected to provide securityholders of the merging funds with the potential for more efficient investment management due to a larger asset base, and generally more comprehensive investment mandates that may result in enhanced diversification and greater portfolio management opportunities. Overall, it is expected that these elements taken together will result in the potential for improved long-term performance in larger continuing funds.
