SEEBURGER's Brian Jolley Named to AIAG Global Engineering & IT Steering Committee
ATLANTA, Jan. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Global business integration solution provider SEEBURGER today announced the appointment of Brian Jolley, a senior account executive dedicated to U.S. automotive accounts, to the Global Engineering and IT Steering Committee of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG). The appointment reflects Jolley's 15-year focus on selling information technology solutions to automotive OEMs and suppliers.
The GE&IT Steering Committee is the oversight body that manages the project portfolio related to product development, engineering, manufacturing and IT domains. Jolley is currently serving on the supplier connectivity workgroup, which is tasked with formulating global industry standards to facilitate secure supply chain communications between OEMs and suppliers.
The assignment ties directly to his expertise in business integration technology, including automotive-specific SEEBURGER solutions that have been used to exchange purchase orders and other transaction messages among automotive trading partners worldwide for over 25 years.
"Seamless, secure, global supplier connectivity is a major challenge, and we need committee members who understand the issues as well as the technologies that can help solve them," said Akram Yunas, Manager, Automotive Industry Action Group. "The combination of Brian's own experience and SEEBURGER's long tenure in the automotive business-to-business space will help us formulate solutions to reduce the cost and complexity of OEM-supplier communications, speed entry into new and emerging markets, and enable rapid response to changing market conditions."
"The automotive industry has been one of our core markets since the company was founded in 1986, and our SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite has become an industry-standard B2B solution for automotive trading partners of all sizes," said Rohit Khanna, EVP, Global Strategy and Corporate Development, for SEEBURGER. "Brian's appointment to this AIAG committee is not only an honor for him, but also a tacit recognition of the contributions we have made to developing as well as supopritin integration of open solutions without our offerings."
In addition to selling SEEBURGER solutions to automotive OEMs and suppliers, Jolley has been actively involved in educating the automotive industry about strategies for preventing data breaches through webinars co-sponsored by SEEBURGER, AIAG and Automotive News. The webinars have addressed the security risks of utilizing email or FTP to exchange sensitive data such as CAD drawings, product/assembly images and engineering data, particularly when the files exceed email size limitations or involve unstructured information exchanged between business users.
Jolley's previous experience includes selling automotive-related IT solutions for IBM, SAP partner pmc-America, Motorola partner BCC Distribution. He is based in the Detroit area.
