SegPay Teams With NASCAR Hopeful Garrett Smithley

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- For the past three years, NASCAR hopeful Garrett Smithley has watched the big race at Daytona from the comfort of his couch. Next year, thanks to his new sponsor, SegPay, he'll be on the track driving a bright orange and blue vehicle trying to win at Daytona International Speedway.

SegPay, one of the world's leading Internet payment processing companies, announced today it had signed a sponsorship agreement with Garrett Smithley Racing, which will include both on-track and online racing, sanctioned by NASCAR. SegPay plans to utilize its partnership with Smithley to accelerate its move into rapidly expanding segments of e-commerce including online gaming. Last year, U.S. consumers spent more than $6 billion playing their favorite online games.

Smithley can't wait to drive the SegPay vehicle at Daytona.

Looking to expand its payment processing footprint into the online gaming industry, the Garrett Smithley Racing sponsorship will also align SegPay with iRacing.com. iRacing allows professional race drivers, hopefuls and online gamers the opportunity to participate in official online racing simulation series sanctioned by NASCAR. The SegPay iRacing car will make its digital debut September 9^th in the NASCAR iRacing Peak Anti-Freeze series. Danny Hansen, professional iRacer, will be driving the #32 SegPay Ford Fusion at the virtual Darlington Raceway. "I'm really excited about Garrett's opportunity" Commented Danny. "We have been friends since he raced legend cars and I'm really happy he is progressing so fast in racing. I'm just glad I can be a part of this and I'm happy to be racing the Virtual SegPay Ford Fusion!" Smithley will also drive a SegPay branded iRace car this fall. Together, Hansen and Smithley will take part in over 30 races before the end of 2014.

As part of its sponsorship of Garrett at Daytona in February of 2015, SegPay will hold a special up-close-and-personal "Pit Row" experience for key clients and employees which will allow participants to see racing in a way very few people ever get to experience.
