Selling Like Hotcakes: Holiday Hypermarket Spanish and Portuguese Island Holiday

Whether the economy is improving or not, it seems travellers are taking the plunge and booking holidays and accommodation in places like the Balearic Islands, the Canaries and Cape Verde for the peak months of June, July and August, say Holiday Hypermarket.

The leading travel retailer states that tickets to the Spanish and Portuguese Islands, particularly Palma Mallorca and Tenerife, bought over the last month, accounted for more than 10 per cent of their total transactions.

Throughout the month, transactions to these islands have not reduced, indicating that despite news of doom and gloom in Europe, holidaymakers are still eager to book a summer vacation with sunshine and sangrias to hand.

A report from holiday rental specialist Campaya is seemingly in agreement, stating that 80 per cent of their holiday homes are booked for the summer. This is taken from an inventory of 50,000 properties across Europe, including destinations like Girona, Alicante and the Balearic Islands.
