DALLAS, Aug. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Senior Living (NYSE: CSU), one of the nation's largest senior living providers, has joined forces with Dallas-based startup OneDay to celebrate and digitally preserve the stories of its residents.
The OneDay mobile app is an interactive, personalized storytelling tool that inspires deeper conversations and connections with seniors. Residents select a topic, from childhood memories to love stories or historic events, and a member of the staff records them answering a few questions on an iOS device. The clips are then combined into a short video that can be instantly shared with family members and housed on residents' very own My Story page.
Capital Senior Living is the first national senior living company of its size using OneDay to create more impactful storytelling experiences and capture residents' stories as a gift to future generations.
"The OneDay app is transforming the way we connect with our residents and their families," said Lawrence Cohen, chief executive officer of Capital Senior Living. "Not only does it capture the valuable perspectives of this incredible generation, but it provides a unique opportunity for our staff to build deeper connections with our residents, while creating cherished keepsakes for their family members."
With 129 communities across the U.S., Capital Senior Living is OneDay's largest partner. Staff at all Capital Senior Living communities have received training on the tool and will begin gathering and sharing stories immediately.
"Our partnership with Capital Senior Living is the first of its kind for OneDay," said Clint Lee, founder and president of OneDay. "We're proud to support a like-minded organization committed to using technology to provide joy to their residents, and priceless reflections for their loved ones."
