The "Burden" of Occasional Constipation Creates Buzz in Penn Station

According to a survey of 1,150 men and women age 50 or older taking at least one prescription medication for common medical conditions, 84% of those polled didn't realize that their medication could cause occasional constipation prior to speaking with a healthcare provider.  The survey, conducted by Russell Research for Purdue Products, showed that about one-third of respondents (35%) who were advised about possible side effects of their medications were told occasional constipation might occur with the medication they are taking.¹
