Sensis Aerobahn Adds Dynamic Rules Alerting for Proactive Management of Scenarios That Impact Air Travelers

EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Sensis Corporation has announced the availability of Dynamic Rules Alerting for its Aerobahn® surface management system. Dynamic Rules Alerting enables airlines and airport owner/operators to create customized, highly complex event alerts to proactively manage airport surface operations. The alerts can directly improve situations that impact efficiency and customer service, including scenarios that would trigger a Department of Transportation Tarmac Delay Rule. Currently, Aerobahn users at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport are employing Dynamic Rules Alerting to further improve the customer experience.

Sensis Aerobahn combines airside operational information, such as flight schedules, with the exact location and identification of aircraft and vehicles on the airport surface for a real-time, comprehensive view and management of operations. Aerobahn data is archived for playback and analysis, enabling post-event review and processes improvement.

Dynamic Rules Alerting builds on Aerobahn's previous alerting capabilities. By factoring in a multitude of aircraft and flight variables, airline operations personnel can pinpoint specific conditions which would require action – preventing a problem before it occurs. For example, a Dynamic Rule can be constructed by the operator to notify the manager if a gate is available for an aircraft holding on the surface, if a flight with a high concentration of premium connecting customers is delayed or if its planned gate location has changed. Further, in addition to pulsing or highlighting on the screen that the aircraft that has met the alert criteria, Aerobahn now also provides an audible alarm or an automatically generated email or text message. With these automatic notifications, users can focus their attention on generating solutions instead of finding problems.

Further, users can customize the views and maps, such as adding annotations, and use the "picture-in-picture" capability to monitor both a specific area and the entire airport simultaneously.
