September 24 is National Voter Registration Day
More than 800 organizations have planned voter registration events across the nation to register voters in time for Election Day 2013.
WASHINGTON, Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, millions of Americans will again celebrate National Voter Registration Day, the largest one-day effort to register voters and get them involved in the American political process.
In honor of this national day of action, more than 800 participating organizations have planned over 650 events nationwide to register Americans to vote in time for Election Day 2013.
The theme for this year's National Voter Registration Day—Millions of people will vote this year. Will you?—reminds Americans that every year is an election year, and an estimated 1,500 statewide and local political races and ballot initiatives will be decided in 2013.
As a non-partisan celebration, National Voter Registration Day is supported and recognized by the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) and falls on every third Tuesday of September.
