SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Sera Prognostics Inc., The Pregnancy Company® (NASDAQ: SERA), focused on improving maternal and neonatal health by providing innovative pregnancy biomarker information to doctors and patients, today announced that it has been selected for addition to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index® (Nasdaq: NBI). The addition is based on the annual reconstitution of the index announced by Nasdaq and will become effective prior to the U.S. stock market open on Monday, December 20, 2021.

The Nasdaq Biotechnology Index is a modified market-cap weighted index designed to track the performance of a set of securities listed on The Nasdaq Stock Market® (Nasdaq®) that are classified as either biotechnology or pharmaceutical according to the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB). Companies in the Nasdaq Biotechnology Index must meet eligibility requirements, including minimum market capitalization, average daily trading volume and seasoning as a public company, among other criteria. Nasdaq selects constituents once annually in December.

About Preterm Birth

Preterm birth is defined as any birth before 37 weeks' gestation and is the leading cause of illness and death in newborns.
