Treating infertility has proven to be a challenge in China, a country formerly known for its one-child-per-family policy, a population-control measure enacted in 1979 that the government scrapped in late 2015. China's strict regulation and restrictions around in vitro fertilization (IVF) and more advanced procedures and already crowded state-run hospitals who are overwhelmed with demand have pushed patients to seek care in unregulated Chinese clinics or seek treatment overseas, including the United States.

Dr. Shin, board certified urologist and male infertility specialist, will present on male factor infertility, which accounts for 40 to 50 percent of all infertility cases. Dr. Shin will discuss the simple tests used to evaluate male fertility, common causes of male factor infertility, lifestyle changes that can improve a man's fertility, and effective treatment options designed to address and overcome male factor infertility.
