SHANG XIA Embraces the Essence of Traditional Chinese Craftsmanship

SHANGHAI, June 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The spirit of craftsmanship has been around throughout the 5000 years of Chinese civilization.

SHANG XIA launches its Twilight Bamboo Marquetry Folding Screen drawn from the essence of Oriental bamboo culture and traditional Chinese bamboo marquetry, retaining the complete craft process from bamboo selection, material choosing, thread making, mortising to inlaying. The screen skillfully combines traditional Chinese furniture structure with contemporary aesthetic design. A simple yet elegant frame and a changing inlay texture show the implicit classical lingering charm, presenting the grandness and beauty of traditional Chinese craftsmanship through its exquisite details.

As a brand of contemporary fine living, SHANG XIA is dedicated to the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese craftsmanship through heritage and innovation. In addition to bamboo marquetry, SHANG XIA's classic works were skillfully crafted using Chinese traditional zitan, felt, eggshell porcelain and bamboo weaving.

As one of China's top contemporary handicrafts, SHANG XIA's Rhinoceros Skin Lacquer Heaven and Earth Lidded Box perfectly inherits the almost lost craft of Rhinoceros Skin Lacquer, which is part of the permanent collection of the British Museum - one of the world's four largest and most famous museums. Together with many other masterpieces of ancient Chinese arts, they show the world China's everlasting magnificence of contemporary craftsmanship.

Inspired by traditional wisdom and techniques of the East, SHANG XIA cherishes the vitality of traditional Chinese craftsmanship. With fine details and premium made-in-China quality, each SHANG XIA product perfectly exemplifies the harmony of traditional and modern, East and West, human and nature.
