ST. LOUIS, April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ShePAC, a political action committee dedicated to supporting principled, conservative women running for federal office, has endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Sarah Steelman. Steelman is running for the GOP nomination to challenge Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) in November.
ShePAC has a dual purpose: to make contributions directly to the campaigns of principled, conservative women running for federal office; and to make expenditures on behalf of principled, conservative women running for federal and statewide office. To date, their endorsed U.S. Senate candidates include Steelman, fmr. Gov. Linda Lingle (R-HI), fmr. U.S. Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM), Linda McMahon (R-CT) and State Rep. Deb Fischer (R-NE).
"Sarah Steelman has the Democrats scared. Her message of eliminating the shackles of debt for our children resonates with voters. Sarah is passionate about her message - she has three sons whose futures she is fighting to protect. Our country and our party need more genuine leaders like Sarah Steelman in elected office and we will do everything we can to get her there," said ShePAC co-chair Suzie Terrell
Steelman responded, "I'm proud to have ShePAC's support, and I'm grateful that they exist to not only support conservative women but to also defend them when they draw fire from the liberal attack machine on the left. I am tired of having the feminist movement define what women should value. I unapologetically support the policies that will benefit all Americans, women and men, like limiting the size and scope of government, enforcing fiscal restraint, strengthening our military, protecting the Second Amendment, advocating individual responsibility and advancing policies that promote free markets."
"I am honored to have ShePAC's support, and I look forward to being an advocate for our shared goals in the U.S. Senate. I look forward to working with them throughout the rest of my campaign," Steelman concluded.
Steelman is an economist who launched small businesses before running for the Missouri State Senate. As a Senator, she fought for tax reform, fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets and other pro-family, pro-business measures. As Missouri's Treasurer, she was responsible for the management of more than $19 billion in Missouri's annual revenue and managed the investment of over $3 billion in long- and short-term investments in the state's portfolio.
