Sherri Michaels Wins 2013 Elsevier Library Connect Charleston Conference Award

Indiana University Bloomington librarian wins award for first-time presenters
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, is pleased to announce Ms. Sherri Michaels, Head of Collection Management at Indiana University Bloomington, as the winner of the second annual Elsevier Library Connect Charleston Conference Award for first-time presenters.
Ms. Michaels was selected by committee in a blind judging for her session entitled "Shared Print on the Move: Collocating Collections." Ms. Michaels received a $1,500 award to apply to travel costs incurred to attend the 33rd Annual Charleston Conference: Issues in Book and Serial Acquisition, November 6-9, 2013.

"I am delighted to share my experience with collocating collections for a shared print repository in my session, but I am most looking forward to participating in many interesting conversations and learning from my library colleagues throughout the conference."

Following the conference, Ms. Michaels will share her conference experience on the Library Connect website, which anchors a complimentary communications program from Elsevier that reaches more than 18,000 librarians worldwide. In 2012, Ms. Maliaca Oxnam, a member of the University of Arizona Scholarly Publishing and Data Management Team, received the first Library Connect Charleston Conference award, for her session entitled "Moving Technical Reports Forward: New Roles for Libraries & Librarians"; she was one of four co-presenters.
Each year more than 1,000 librarians, publishers, electronic resource managers, consultants, and library material vendors gather at the Charleston Conference.
