Shift4 Announces U.S. EMV Certification With Heartland Payment Systems

LAS VEGAS, June 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Payment services and gateway provider Shift4 Corporation today announced it has certified for U.S. EMV with Heartland Payment Systems. With this certification, merchants in any industry will be able to process chip-embedded credit and debit card payments through Heartland. At the same time, they'll receive unrivaled security and flexibility through Shift4's DOLLARS ON THE NET payment gateway.

Many companies have operated under the misconception that EMV chip cards will protect merchants from payment data breaches. This is not true. While more secure than their magnetic-stripe predecessors, EMV remains vulnerable to data theft unless additional security measures are in place.
