SID, Cowen and Company Host 10th Annual Investors Conference at Display Week 2014
CAMPBELL, Calif., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- For the 10th year in a row, the Society for Information Display (SID) is teaming with sponsor Cowen and Company to present the annual Investors Conference at Display Week, which runs June 1-6, 2014, at the San Diego Convention Center. The daylong event, slated for Tuesday, June 3, will concentrate once again on "Trendspotting in the Emerging Display Technology Ecosystem."
Designed for public and private investors along with new business specialists and industry observers, the Investors Conference will explore emerging technology stories that are enabling new markets and impacting the global display ecosystem. This year's event will spotlight technologies that have turned the corner toward volume commercialization, as well as the technology innovations opening new markets and opportunities. The conference will kick off with welcoming remarks by Rob Stone, Cowen's senior equity research analyst covering digital media, and then feature interactive presentations from leading emerging technology firms across the display supply chain. These include top executives from both private and public companies, including Cambrios Technologies, CBRITE, CimaNanoTech, Immersion, Kateeva, Kopin, Nanoco, NanoLumens, Nanosys, Ostendo, Prysm, QD Vision, Tactus Technology, and Universal Display.
The Investors Conference will also feature two keynote presentations from notable display innovators. Luncheon speaker Dr. Andy Ouderkirk, corporate scientist for 3M's Electronics Markets Materials Division,will deliver a keynote presentation discussing "Innovation in the Display Technology Ecosystem." Dr. Ouderkirk, the recipient of the 2013 R&D Magazine Innovator of the Year Award, pioneered research that led to the creation of 3M Multilayer Optical Film. This film product is used in mobile phones, tablets, PCs and other consumer electronics devices to help improve battery life and performance. Pat Griffis, Senior Director, Technology Strategy from Dolby Labs, will deliver the closing keynote, "Impacting the Display Industry through Advances in Next-Generation Video." Griffis is the former president of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society, and has a host of experience with companies across the CE landscape, including Microsoft and Panasonic.
A networking reception will be held at the end of the day to bring together presenters and attendees to discuss how the display industry centers on innovation and offers tremendous market opportunity.
