"Sigma-Aldrich is honored to be featured on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices," said Rakesh Sachdev, Sigma-Aldrich President and CEO.  "As a Company, Sigma-Aldrich is helping make the world a healthier, cleaner and safer place and one way we to do that is through solid sustainability practices.  We recognize the valuable impact being a better corporate citizen can have on our employees, our customers, our shareholders and the communities where we live and work."

With the introduction of its GC1015 Initiative in 2010, which outlined seven sustainability goals the Company plans to achieve by 2015, Sigma-Aldrich has increasingly ramped up its efforts to reduce waste, energy and water usage and carbon emissions; to improve supply chain transparency; and to increase its greener alternative products offering and employee volunteerism around the world.
