Silent Circle Achieves FIPS 140-2 Encryption Validation To Meet U.S. Federal Requirements For Silent Phone
GENEVA, Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Silent Circle has today announced the completion of the FIPS 140-2 validation process for Silent Phone. This is the industry standard accreditation set by official governing body – the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) – and is a validation required for any encryption utilized in any software solution deployed in the U.S. government.
Silent Circle has been awarded Certificate #2465 by NIST - achieved by Silent Phone after successfully testing with Silent Circle's Mobile Application Cryptographic module against the federally-mandated encryption standards on leading mobile platforms: Apple iOS and Android.
