SilverSneakers® Announces National Swanson Award Winner

CHANDLER, Ariz., Aug. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SilverSneakers^® by Tivity Health (NASDAQ: TVTY), the nation's leading community fitness program for older Americans, announced today the national winner of the 2018 SilverSneakers Swanson Award. DeWitt, Michigan resident, Sally Miller has been named the winner of the 14^th annual award, which is presented to one member whose commitment to health and staying active encourages others to love life longer.

Sally, a member of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, doesn't just work out at Snap Fitness, she befriends everyone she meets. According to her son Robb, who nominated her for the award and who owns the Snap Fitness location, it's a "fitness family business." Sally makes it her personal mission to greet new members, send get well cards and organize birthday parties and outside events for her fellow SilverSneakers members. Her energy is contagious, and she loves motivating and cheering on those around her. Sally loves to talk to members about the SilverSneakers program and listens with a warm heart when members are having life challenges. It is because of her enthusiasm the SilverSneakers program at her location has grown to 25 members.

Sally Miller and nine other SilverSneakers members were selected as finalists for the award, and a public online vote determined the national winner. Sally's inspiring story received 37 percent of all votes earning her the honor of the national SilverSneakers Swanson Award winner.

The Swanson Award honors a SilverSneakers member who has improved his or her own life through a healthy lifestyle that incorporates physical activity while inspiring and motivating others along the way. The award was created by SilverSneakers founder, Mary Swanson, whose father served as the inspiration for the nationally acclaimed fitness program.
