Simeone & Miller Attorneys Successfully Represent Appellant in Car Accident Case

WASHINGTON, July 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Attorneys Craig Miller and Matthew Tsun represented a woman injured in an automobile accident case. The woman filed suit on her own before retaining Simeone & Miller, but retained the firm shortly thereafter. The attorney representing the defendant in the case argued that the plaintiff did not caption the case properly when she first filed it, and because of that, his client had not been sued within the statute of limitations. The trial court agreed with the defense attorney and granted summary judgment. This meant that the lawsuit would be dismissed.

Miller and Tsun appealed the trial court's decision and were able to convince the Court of Appeals that their client did properly caption the case and the statute of limitations had been met.  Specifically, the Court of Appeals reversed the trial court's grant of summary judgment, meaning that the case could now move forward for further proceedings.
