Hitting a golf ball out of a bunker, particularly greenside bunkers, is a challenge to all golfers.  Most golfers know that they don't want to hit the ball with their bunker shot because they will blade it out of the bunker and probably end up somewhere they don't want to be.  Instead they want their club to enter the sand some distance behind the ball for the ball to fly out of the bunker on a cushion of sand.  But how far behind?  Too far behind the ball and it stays in the sand; too close, and they risk blading it.
