Simran Bindra Joins Laurus Corp. As Director Of Corporate Affairs And General Counsel
LOS ANGELES, April 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Laurus Corp., a U.S.-based real estate investment and development firm, has appointed Simran Bindra as Director of Corporate Affairs and General Counsel. Mr. Bindra has over 15 years of experience representing hospitality, office and retail owners and developers in all aspects of the real estate life cycle, experience which will be vital to support the rapid, continued growth of Laurus as well as its affiliate real estate private equity firm, Ethika Investments.

In his new role, Mr. Bindra's business and legal expertise will be critical as he will oversee all legal aspects of both Laurus' and Ethika's company-wide operations and regulatory compliance as well as its entity and joint venture formation, acquisition and disposition of assets across the Laurus portfolio, and financing process on all real estate deals.
Immediately prior to joining Laurus, Mr. Bindra served as Senior Director and Associate General Counsel for Capital One, National Association, operating as general counsel for their commercial and specialty finance group, which included various commercial, healthcare, real estate and asset-based lending platforms. Additional past experience includes an appointment as Senior Counsel for a publicly traded real estate investment trust and a stint at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. All told, during the course of his career, Mr. Bindra has negotiated multiple high-profile construction and hospitality transactions worth over $5 billion.
Mr. Bindra holds a B.A. in Politics with a minor in Economics from Occidental College and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to his professional activities, he has also served as a board member for the South Asian Bar Association's Public Interest Foundation.
