SiriusXM Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Exclusive Latin Programming

NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that it will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with performances, interviews, and specials by many of today's most celebrated Latin artists.

"SiriusXM's ICONOS with La Arrolladora Banda El Limon" will kick off Hispanic Heritage month featuring the Regional Mexican band in an exclusive Q&A session with SiriusXM subscribers.  The multiple GRAMMY® and Latin Grammy® award winning band discusses their decades-long career, early musical influences, the love from their fans, and latest album, Gracias Por Creer.

In honor of one of the most influential salsa singers of all time, SiriusXM will air "Hector Lavoe Radio," a three-day channel takeover featuring non-stop music by Hector Lavoe, "El Cantante de los Cantantes," celebrating what would have been the famed singer's 67^th birthday.  "Hector Lavoe Radio" begins airing on SiriusXM Rumbon channel 533 on Saturday, September 28 at 12:00 am ET.

Interview with GRAMMY® Award-winning and multi-platinum producers A&X and special guest Natti Natasha followed by performances by the duo, Kat Dahlia and Pitbull's Top Ten.  Airs Fridays at 6:00 pm ET. 

Caliente channel 150:

An interview and acoustic performance by Bachata group Vena; interview with producer-to-the-stars Sergio George; and, interview with Dominican singer/ songwriter Henry Santos.  Airs Fridays, beginning September 20 at 4:00 pm ET. 

SiriusXM Caliente will also feature live performances recorded at SiriusXM studios by Prince Royce, Willy Garcia, Sensato, Eddie Herrera, 3 Ball MTY, Tony Vega, Jose Pena Suazo y Su Banda Gorda, Los Hermanos Rosario, Los Enanitos Verdes, Frank Reyes, Grupo Niche, Frankie J, and many more.  The weekly Caliente concerts air every Thursday at 4:00 pm ET.

Flow Nacion channel 506:

Chart- topping reggaeton artist Farruko hosts Flow Nacion's "The Chosen 10." Airs Friday, September 20 at 8:00 pm ET.

Latidos channel 520:

The channel of romantic songs from the 90s to today will feature a special interview and performance by Italian trio Il Volo and multiple-time GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® singer, songwriter, composer and poet Draco Rosa's Top 10 favorite songs of all time.  Airs Saturday, September 28 and Saturday, October 12 at 1:00 pm ET.

Caricia channel 523:

Caricia dedicates one week to the music of each of its most important decades - the 60s, 70s, and 80s.  Airs Saturdays at 12:00 am ET beginning Saturday, September 21.  

Rumbon channel 533:

Takeovers by salsa's all-time greatest artists.  Featured takeovers "Ruben Blades Radio," "Fania All Stars Radio," "Hector Lavoe Radio," "Celia Cruz Radio," and "Willie Colon Radio" will air Saturdays at 12:00 am ET beginning Saturday, September 14.
