NEW YORK, March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) today announced that it is expanding its election coverage with the launch of "Showdown 2012" -- a live, prime time look at presidential politics and the road to the White House -- on SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S., the unfiltered, unbiased 24/7 channel that covers the "Politics of the United States" from every perspective. The "Showdown 2012" lineup features a weekly show hosted by CQ Roll Call editors including Morton M. Kondracke, as well as a weekly show co-hosted by top communications strategists/political analysts Karen Finney and Robert Traynham.

"Showdown 2012" programming will air Monday - Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 pm ET through the election on SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S. (channel 124). Showdown 2012: CQ Roll Call (Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm ET): Senior Editor Morton M. Kondracke and other leading staffers including David Hawkings, editor, CQ Roll Call Daily Briefing, host this weekly show from CQ Roll Call, the nation's premier source of timely news, objective facts, analysis and coverage of elections and the politics of legislation. A 37-year veteran Washington, D.C. journalist, Kondracke previously served as CQ Roll Call's Executive Editor and columnist; executive editor and senior editor of The New Republic; Newsweek's Washington bureau chief, columnist at The Wall Street Journal and co-host of "The Beltway Boys" with Fred Barnes. Kondracke received the Washington Post "Crystal Ball Award" in 1994 for predicting the Republican takeover of Congress.

He was a longtime senior aide and press secretary for Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) and President of the United States Senate Press Secretaries Association.
