SISMICA Reported Extraorinary Results On Their Debut Activation
MIAMI, Dec. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SISMICA, ProChile's newest brand created with the goal of promoting Chilean art in the international art scene, reported extraordinary results of their debut activation in Miami Art Week 2018. At PINTA Miami, Factoría Santa Rosa sold three pieces by 27-year-old Fernanda López. Modos de Calzar was purchased by CIFO (Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation). Mitologia del Caminar, also by López, was sold to renowned Latin-American collector Claudio Engel. They also sold Introducciones del Vestir, by Fernanda López, and pieces by Germán Gana and Gonzalo Cienfuegos. The Isabel Croxatto gallery sold two pieces of the An Unfolding Portrait series by Andrea Levía and Faces Traces by Andrea Wolf. NAC, the youngest of all the Chilean galleries attending this year, sold Ruina Blanda, a mix media piece by Matthew Neary. Lastly, La Sala gallery sold three pieces by the Obras en Aluminio series by Marcela Muñiz, a piece by Gonzalo Sanchez: Geometria Sagrada, and a bronce sculpture by Ignacio Gana.
"We are off to a successful start for SISMICA, as we exceeded our expectations in this first interventions. We will continue to execute on our long-term strategies," said Isabel Aninat, President of AGAC (Association of Chilean Contemporary Art Galleries). "Our confidence in our model allowed us to showcase strong selection in all three fairs."
Also, at PINTA Miami, the Chilean pavilion was curated by Matias Allende. From a demented geography to the telluric is a study of Pablo Neruda and Gabriela Mistral's prose and the intrinsic relationship of the subjects with the landscape.
"We are very excited with what happened at PINTA Miami," explained Isabel Croxatto, Treasurer of AGAC. "This was the first time for most of the galleries in Miami Art Week. Without the support of ProChile and SISMICA, this would have not been possible for most of them."
At Art Miami, AMS-XS, brought an incredible proposition by 2 artists who were well received by all attending. They sold four pieces by Nicolas Radic: Aluminio, Celofan, Plastico Negro y Aluminio 2.
Untitled housed Aninat. From established artist's Lotti Rosenfeld, the gallery sold Plaza de la Revolución, La Habana. From Mid-career Monica Bengoa, the gallery sold One hundred and sixty-three shades of yellow, green, orange, red, purple, brown, grey and blue (so far). Lastly, a piece from emerging artist Mariana Najmanovich Untitled I.
"To be in Miami as a block was an amazing experience that not only solidify our presence as individual galleries, but also as a country. To be here as part of ProChile and SISMICA's efforts allows us to act as a force that puts Chilean art in the map of the international scene," explained Nicole Andreu, secretary of AGAC.
