Six Flags Over Georgia Opens Season with Debut of New Roller Coaster, Georgia Gold Rusher

"As the park's 12^th coaster and the world's first free-spinning gondola coaster, this attraction represents our team's commitment to delivering unmatched thrills, immersive entertainment and lifelong memories," said Greg Fuller, general manager at Six Flags Over Georgia. Georgia Gold Rusher is a first-of-its-kind attraction, featuring free-spinning seating that deliver a different experience with each ride. Guests board one of two gondolas facing outward and are launched back and forth on a 590-foot, U-shaped track at speeds of 60 mph and heights up to 144 feet. Punctuated by dynamic water features, the unique ride experience is packed with three gravity-defying "airtime" (weightless) moments on gravity stall ramps, and four unique airtime sensations on the coaster's central hill.

Inspired by Georgia's historic 19^th century gold rush, the roller coaster's immersive theming is just one example of the Six Flags Over Georgia's renewed investment in immersive storytelling and improving the overall guest experience. Aimed at breathing new life into the park, a host of theming enhancements and additional upgrades will be made throughout the park this season.

Six Flag's Over Georgia's dining receives considerable investment with three new dining concepts, fresh menu options, improved service operations and a new executive chef who oversees the park's refreshed culinary vision.

The park operates on weekends March 15 through May 18, including daily operation for Spring Break April 5 to April 13. Hurricane Harbor water park is scheduled to open May 24. The 2025 season features an extensive lineup of special events, from new festivals like Summerbration (May 31 to July 29) to familiar favorites like Holiday in the Park (Nov. 22 to Jan. 4).

Guests with 2025 Season Passes have free event access and will be among the first to experience Georgia Gold Rusher with exclusive ride time on Opening Weekend, March 15 and March 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Season Passes are on sale now at the lowest price of the season.
