Skagit Island Orthopedic Center Opens New Anacortes Facility
New stand-alone facility elevates level of care and improves patient convenience
ANACORTES, Wash., April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 21, Skagit Island Orthopedic Center (SIO) will unveil Anacortes' newest medical facility with an open house, inviting the public to tour its just-completed downtown facility and home to a comprehensive array of diagnostic, post-operative and physical therapy services and equipment.
As one of two locations of a 13-year-old practice that provides care for patients from Fidalgo Island, Whidbey Island, and the San Juan Islands, the newly-constructed center provides the latest in modern facilities and services, brings care to a convenient location, and provides space to meet growth in patient demand and expectations, said Dr. Richard Williamson, SIO surgeon and practice co-founder.
"We designed this clinic as a one-stop destination with the aim of making musculoskeletal treatment as convenient and comfortable as possible," Williamson said. "Our new location allows our patients – including those of limited mobility – to arrive directly at our front door for the easiest access to the most up-to-date resources possible."
The 4,000-square-foot clinic at 2720 Commercial Avenue features on-site digital X-rays, which provide nearly instantaneous images for faster diagnoses and less waiting time for patients.
Additionally, the facility boasts a physical therapy center complete with new treadmills, exercise bicycles and private treatment rooms – attractive features for patients who must make as many as three visits a week for rehabilitation after surgery. The practice previously occupied an office at Island Hospital.
"We hope the new facility is a clear indication of our commitment to patients, other health care providers and residents of the area," Dr. Williamson said. "We are proud to be a part of this wonderful community."
The open house is free to the public from noon to 3 p.m. on April 21. No reservation is required.
