Skandia King Air Soundproofing Kit Receives ANAC Approval
Approval expands access to Skandia's customizable cabin-noise solution for King Air 200 and 300 operators in Brazil
DAVIS JUNCTION, Ill., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading aircraft interiors specialist Skandia, Inc., has received final approval from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) for its King Air 200/300 soundproofing acoustic kit.
Engineered and tested by Skandia, the kit received FAA approval in 2017 and also holds EASA and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) approvals. The latest certification makes the solution available to most King Air 200 and 300 aircraft in Brazil, expanding access to a quieter, more comfortable cabin experience.
The kit uses advanced Skandia-designed materials to reduce cabin noise and unpleasant sound frequencies throughout all phases of flight. Its straightforward installation and à la carte format allow operators to tailor the system to their aircraft and performance goals. Available components include:
- Skin damping
- Floor damping and carpet pad
- Thermal/acoustic insulation bags
- Overframe blanket
Skandia's engineered approach treats both airborne and structure-borne sound through a coordinated system of damping, absorption and barrier materials. The company can also perform an in-flight acoustical analysis to establish an aircraft's unique sound signature at cruise speed and altitude, then recommend a customized solution designed to maximize noise reduction while minimizing weight.
"Brazil has a large and important King Air fleet, and we're excited to make our proven soundproofing solution available to more operators and passengers in the region," said Manny Valtierra, Site Manager at Skandia. "This approval reflects our commitment to engineering quieter, safer and more comfortable aircraft."
Skandia has developed complete soundproofing systems for more than 80 aircraft models. Its thermal and acoustic materials include insulation strip blankets, overframe blankets and carpet padding, with solutions supported by in-house engineering and certification expertise.
