LONDON, February 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Acclaimed online poker firm, Sky Poker, has announced the release of their new poker variation "Timed Tournaments". This exciting new game format offers players the chance to experience the thrill and pressures of playing tournament poker against the clock.
The games run in the format of a regular multi-table tournament, but unlike a regular tournament, the games have a set time limit. When the specified time limit expires, the prize money for the round is awarded according to the finishing chip counts of each player.
For example, if a player were to enter into a 30-minute Timed Tournament, then the current state of play would be frozen once the 30 minutes had expired. The percentage of the chips that any player currently has in play once the game has ended constitutes the percentage of the prize pool that is awarded to the player.
Perhaps the biggest attraction of the new tournaments is the versatility that is offered. Timed Tournaments can be played in as little as 15 minute rounds, meaning players with little time can still compete for a cash prize without having to play for hours. Game lengths of 30 minutes or an hour are also available.
Visit the Sky Poker Tournaments lobby now to find out more about Timed Tournaments. Best of luck!
