River North Event Venue Offers Ice Skating for Winter Season

CHICAGO, Sept. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Premiere Chicago event venue Savage Smyth announced today the addition of a private rooftop ice skating rink to its River North space. Kicking off the winter season in November, Savage Smyth's open-air rooftop will feature a 1,500-square-foot synthetic ice rink surrounded by evergreen trees draped in festive twinkling lights. Guests can skate atop the building and enjoy Chicago's iconic skyline as the backdrop.

"As a creative event venue, we constantly challenge ourselves to evolve our space with innovative ideas," said Savage Smyth co-founder Gabrielle Martinez. "The addition of an ice rink to a private event venue is a unique experience not offered elsewhere in Chicago."

Available for private rental from November 8 through March 1, the ice rink can accommodate up to 50 skaters at one time, with rental skates provided by the venue. Guests can customize the space for a unique event, bringing in hot beverage stations, holiday music and seasonally inspired lighting.

"The skating rink is a perfect way for companies, organizations and private individuals to elevate their winter events and holiday celebrations," said Fergus Rooney, Savage Smyth co-founder.

In addition to the 8,000-square-foot rooftop, Savage Smyth offers 8,000 square-feet of customizable indoor space, which together can accommodate up to 300 guests. Access to the ice rink is included in a full buyout of the venue.
