Skyhorse Teams With Thank You, Brain! Productions To Develop TV, Film And Digital Assets
NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Skyhorse Publishing, one of the fastest-growing independent book publishers in the country, is extending its brand into the TV, film and streaming digital arenas, teaming up with Thank You, Brain! Productions.
A boutique TV and film production company, Thank You, Brain! Productions recently sold the novel and top ten podcast, This is Why You're Single, as a half-hour sitcom for TV, and its top executives have worked with A-list talent from Chris Rock to Anne Hathaway across television networks.
Skyhorse recently published the movie tie-in screenplay for Oliver Stone's SNOWDEN and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s FRAMED: Why Michael Skakel Spent Over a Decade in Prison for a Murder He Didn't Commit. Skyhorse is also currently working with A + E Networks on paperback novelizations tied to the first season of History Channel's upcoming drama series, SIX, inspired by the real missions of the Navy's SEAL Team Six.
"We have a growing stable of great writers, over forty-three New York Times bestsellers, and a library of thousands of books that need to be introduced into the TV, film and digital worlds," said Tony Lyons, who launched Skyhorse in 2006. Executive Producers Krysia Plonka (Billy on the Street, Those Who Can't) and Tracey Baird (Bored to Death, Flight of the Conchords) launched Thank You, Brain! Productions in 2012. Separately, the two partners have worked for HBO, ABC, NBC, CBS and others. As a company, the two have developed and produced for MTV, Comedy Central, YouTube Red, Mattel, ABC Digital, Adult Swim, POP TV, truTV, Amazon, Glamour and IFC Films.
