SkyWest, Inc. Reports Combined November 2015 Traffic for SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines

ST. GEORGE, Utah, Dec. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest, Inc., (NASDAQ: SKYW) ("SkyWest") today reported 162,989 block hours in November 2015, compared to 180,507 block hours in November 2014, a decrease of 17,518, or 9.7%.  The net decrease was consistent with SkyWest's fleet transition plan to improve the mix of aircraft in its fleet by adding new dual class aircraft to its fleet, while reducing its 50-seat and 30-seat aircraft.

The year-over-year net change was primarily driven by approximately 8,700 additional block hours from its incremental 76-seat E175 aircraft and a decrease of approximately 26,800 block hours from fewer 50-seat jet (CRJ200s and ERJ135s/145s) and 30-seat turboprop (EMB-120) aircraft. 

In November 2015, SkyWest's dual class aircraft (CRJ700s, CRJ900s and E175s) represented approximately 41% of SkyWest's total block hour production for the month compared to approximately 32% for the month of November 2014. 

SkyWest reported 1,908,268 block hours for year-to-date November 2015, compared to 2,090,069 block hours year-to-date November 2014, a decrease of 181,801, or 8.7%.  This net change was primarily driven by approximately 94,000 additional block hours from SkyWest's E175 aircraft and a decrease of approximately 266,000 block hours from fewer 50-seat jet and 30-seat turboprop aircraft.

SkyWest had 95,512 departures in November 2015 compared to 106,018 in November 2014, a decrease of 10,506, or 9.9%.  SkyWest generated 2.86 billion available seat miles (ASMs) for November 2015, compared to 3.03 billion ASMs for November 2014, or a 5.7% decrease.
