SmartPrepare enhances whole community preparedness by providing emergency managers with actionable information on the needs of individuals in a community in order to help mitigate the effects of, prepare for, and respond to disasters and other emergency incidents.

Already deployed in Washington, D.C., New Canaan, CT, and Osage County, MO, SmartPrepare allows citizens to share critical information about themselves and their families with emergency management and public health officials, enabling them to more effectively handle complex and dynamic incidents. The safe and secure citizen-managed data is automatically validated and geocoded by the system, allowing for better response through the rapid identification and geospatial visualization of specific community needs. As a result, emergency management can respond rapidly to such issues as medical conditions and disabilities requiring special resources at emergency shelters, mobility limitations necessitating evacuation assistance, handling of pets and more. Most importantly, it provides the ability to more efficiently plan for emergencies and respond to those in the greatest need of assistance.

Safety Profiles created at the site are kept confidential and secure, and are only visible to select public safety officials if the citizen explicitly allows the data to be shared for emergency planning purposes.
