ATLANTA, April 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) announces the launch of its Approved Provider Education Program, established to recognize Industry Partners who provide training aligned with physical asset management and/or SMRP's current Body of Knowledge (BoK).
The new members-only education program allows Industry Partners to gain an additional level of acknowledgement for their education and training offerings, while helping practitioners feel confident they are receiving quality training that has been vetted by a neutral third party.
"We created this program in response to strong demand in the marketplace," said SMRP Chair Craig Seibold, CMRP, with Newmont Mining. "We are confident it will be a valuable resource for our members seeking to expand their knowledge of physical asset management and the new ISO 55000 standards."
Interested Industry Partners will apply by describing how their educational offerings align with any of the 39 asset management topics identified by the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM) and/or any of the subjects within the SMRP BoK.
"We predict that the demand for physical asset management education will continue to grow, and we're excited to be able to offer reliability professionals this new service," said Jon Krueger, executive director of SMRP.
