ROCKVILLE, Md., Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SOL of Potomac - The Penthouse officially opened its doors today at 350 Fortune Terrace, Suite 210, in Rockville, Maryland.

The new 4,800-square-foot adult-use and medical cannabis dispensary is now open to the public, with its Grand Opening Celebration beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.

Founded by technology executive and entrepreneur Derrick "Jack" Frost, SOL is reimagining cannabis retail around a simple question:

What if a dispensary were designed as a destination rather than a transaction?

The Penthouse combines personal consultation, thoughtfully curated products, live programming, original content and intelligent technology.

Sunlight pours through walls of windows. Products appear in jewelry-store-inspired displays. A fireplace anchors the SOL Family Room beneath a 100-inch screen featuring music, sports and culture.

The SOL Cafe provides a lounge-style gathering area, while the SOL BAR serves as the centerpiece for personal consultation and product discovery.

The Penthouse is a licensed cannabis dispensary and does not permit onsite consumption. The SOL Cafe and SOL BAR do not serve food, beverages or alcohol.

The SOL experience begins with one question: How do you want to feel?

SOL Cannabis Consultants help guests navigate products through personal conversation and guidance. Ask Dr. Dix, led by SOL Clinical Director J. Alexander Dix, PharmD, brings a licensed pharmacist into the experience.

The Penthouse will also host music, brand pop-ups, Maryland-maker showcases and original content. Opening-week programming includes Madisun Bailey on Thursday and Dr. Dix performing as DJ Dr. Feelgood from 5-9 p.m. Friday.

SOL.MD, currently in development, is an AI-powered cannabis product discovery and recommendation engine designed to help consumers explore products based on their preferences, desired experience and preferred format.
