SoMo, HERE Mobility's Recently Launched Consumer App, Takes the Streets of Barcelona for Mobile World Congress 2019

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 25, 2019 HERE Mobility is leveraging their all-in-one social mobility app, SoMo, to give attendees of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona the widest array of transportation options in choosing with whom they ride and how they get to their destination.

With over 100,000 people expected to be in Barcelona for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, SoMo offers attendees a simple, convenient way to travel together or on your own around the City of Counts. SoMo, gives the option to book a taxi through local partners like Taximes and Taxi Ecologic or plan shared rides around one-time events, like a night out in the Born District, or recurring events, like a daily ride to MWC. SoMo users can explore nearby Gatherings or connect with their friends and social circles to plan a Gathering of any size.

Harnessing the power of the HERE Mobility Marketplace, an open and competitive mobility marketplace that aggregates all locally available mobility services in real-time, SoMo presents users with a variety of transportation options to best fit their needs, including taxis, public transportation and more; merging urban transit with a free ride-share layer.

SoMo fills a key void in the mobility market, with consumers increasingly craving social mobility experiences. According to a McKinsey survey, half of ridesharing users enjoy taking rideshares for social outings.
