ATLANTA, Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Ericsson today announced four key appointments in the Americas with the ambition to drive further growth in these markets. The new appointments, which combine the talents of existing leadership and new players from the mobile industry, will provide greater focus on key customers and constitutes another step in making Sony Ericsson a leader on Android.
The following executives will join Sony Ericsson's Americas team:
- Paul Hamnett now serves as Head of Region North America effective 1st September after holding the title of Senior Vice President and Head of MU North America in Atlanta. His previous global roles with the company include Head of Global Retail Sales and Sales Operations, Head of Global Sales and Head of Sales Region Western Europe.
- Jorge Juarez will join Sony Ericsson as Head of Region Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean effective 1st September 2011. Mr. Juarez joins Sony Ericsson from Ericsson where he has held several leadership positions including in Mexico and Central America and most recently as Key Account Manager for Telcel. He will be based in Mexico.
- Jorge Aguiar will join Sony Ericsson as Head of Region South America, effective 1st October 2011 after 20 years at Ericsson with his most recent role as Head of Northern Latin America Customer Unit. He will be based in Brazil.
- Ricardo Gaibor rejoins Sony Ericsson as Head of Distribution and Retail for Latin America after serving as Vice President of Manufacturer Sales for Brightstar.
