The new workflow uses AI to gather and reconcile public web information, social signals, photographs, lease and floor plans, architectural drawings, tenant directories, and permit records to determine what spatial elements changed. Using Open AI's frontier models, Sophus geospatial practice converted floor plans, CAD, LiDAR, imagery, and documents into governed indoor mapping data for navigation, wayfinding, operations, and digital twins, supporting the production and maintenance of more than 1,800 mall maps and 350 airport maps across North America.

By automating map digitization pipeline entirely and first-pass change triage, the deployment increased map-delivery throughput by 77%, reduced dependence on costly site visits, and allowed GIS specialists to focus on exceptions requiring expert judgment.
