Sound Physicians Welcomes Michael Kedansky, M.D., as Chief Medical Officer of Transitional Care Services

TACOMA, Wash., May 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sound Physicians is a physician-founded and led organization with more than 1,750 physicians in more than 180 hospitals and post-acute facilities across the U.S., driving improvements in quality, satisfaction and financial performance throughout the acute episode of care. Sound Physicians recently announced that Michael Kedansky, M.D., has joined the organization as Chief Medical Officer of Transitional Care Services, effective April 28, 2015.

As Sound Physicians' national leader of the clinical arm of Transitional Care Services, Dr. Kedansky will work closely with Sound Physicians' regional leadership teams and market leadership to drive the organization's vision of improving quality and reducing the cost of healthcare, specifically through enhancing its Transitional Care Services initiative.

Most recently, Dr. Kedansky served as the Senior Medical Officer for CareMore Health Plan in Tucson. In this role, he was the clinical leader for the Tucson market and supervised clinical markets in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Richmond. He was responsible for providing hospitalist services for CareMore patients, as well as clinical management at skilled nursing facilities and discharge follow-up visits in the outpatient setting. He served as the primary contact for all physician partners and provided strategic and operating direction for the delivery of evidence-based medical management.

From 2004 to 2009, Dr. Kedansky was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine with University Physicians Healthcare (UPH) in Tucson, providing care for patients and supervising the UPH Kino Campus residents, while also serving as Chief of Staff, as well as a member of the board of directors for UPH. Dr. Kedansky received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and M.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
