Sourcing Industry Leaders Come Together to Discuss Strategies for Growth
Nearly 120 executives gather for 2010 TPI Americas Sourcing Industry Conference
BOSTON, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- TPI, the largest sourcing data and advisory firm in the world and a unit of Information Services Group, Inc. (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), an industry-leading information-based services company, announced today that nearly 120 executives from leading service providers and law firms came together this week to discuss strategies for meeting challenges and capitalizing on opportunities in the current market at the 2010 TPI Americas Sourcing Industry Conference (SIC).
In the midst of dramatic economic, technological and political uncertainty, service providers are facing decreasing contract values, intensifying competition and a slow and uneven recovery in the sourcing market. The average value of contracts for both IT and business process outsourcing is at its lowest level in the past five years, according to TPI Index data presented at the SIC.
In response, service providers are consolidating, re-balancing their portfolios and tailoring solutions to clients' most pressing needs, such as sourcing governance, shared services and cloud computing. TPI has observed increasing interest in cloud computing among large enterprises despite concerns about security and reliability.
"The sourcing industry is undergoing unprecedented shifts, and service providers are on the front line of that change," said Michael P. Connors, Chairman & CEO, ISG and TPI. "TPI is excited to be able to collaborate with them to grow the overall industry and deliver improved service to our mutual clients."
Held in Boston, the SIC featured workshops, presentations and panel discussions on the theme "The Current Face of Sourcing: Capitalizing on Economic, Technological and Political Change."
