South Mountain Creamery Closes Ice Cream Shop & Pizza in Downtown Frederick

Company Shifts Focus to Expanding Home Delivery, Wholesale, and Farm Experiences

FREDERICK, Md., Aug. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- South Mountain Creamery, a farmer-owned and operated creamery, has chosen not to renew their lease on the South Mountain Creamery Ice Cream Shop & Pizza in Downtown Frederick, Maryland.

Located off Carroll Creek and Market Street in Downtown Frederick, the Ice Cream Shop & Pizza will close out eight years of operation in the space effective August 24, 2025. Customers are encouraged to visit and enjoy shop specialties like "Mountain Milkshakes" and Waffle Bowl Sundaes, plus scratch-made pizzas and other savory bites before the shop's final day.
