South Walton's beach neighborhoods will host an eclectic mix of concerts and festivals this fall. Now through November, visitors are invited to participate in the destination's season of culinary, cultural and artistic events set against an awe-inspiring backdrop of turquoise water and sugar-white sand.
From October 19-21, pirates will invade South Walton's normally tranquil Topsail Hill Preserve State Park for the first-ever Treasures of South Walton Adventure Run. Participants in the 5K run will have to guard their "booty" from pirates as they progress through a variety of obstacles on their way to the finish line. The weekend-long event also includes a masquerade ball and a 1K fun run for the kids.
The Noche de los Muertos Costume Party is an over-the-top costume party that will take place October 27 at the Caliza Pool in Alys Beach. Costumes are required for this adults-only party, which will feature DJ G-Funk and a $500 cash prize for the best costume of the night.
Golf enthusiasts will have the chance to hit the links with dozens of sports celebrities in the 16th Annual South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic November 1-3 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The popular annual golf tournament will benefit Working Warriors, which helps provide jobs and economic independence to military veterans.
Coastal Living's 2012 Ultimate Beach House stands proudly in Rosemary Beach as this South Walton neighborhood was chosen as the backdrop for the magazine's 15th anniversary designer beach home. The spectacular home is open to the public until October 7, with proceeds from the home tours benefiting the Rosemary Beach Foundation.
Taste of the Beach brings a series of wine and culinary events to South Walton over the course of three delicious days, November 2-4. The events feature national wine suppliers, boutique vineyards and an impressive list of local chefs and restaurants serving fresh, local fare.
