Southern Wine & Spirits Of America Acquires Sterling Distributing Company

MIAMI, Feb. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern)—the nation's leading wine and spirits distributor with operations in 35 markets—today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Sterling Distributing Company in Omaha, Nebraska. Sterling Distributing Company is Nebraska's premier distilled spirits and fine wine wholesaler.

Commenting on the acquisition, Wayne E. Closing of the acquisition is expected at the end of February 2016, subject to final regulatory approvals. Southern has been licensed in Nebraska since August 2007. Upon the closing of Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, LLC in the second quarter of 2016, the Sterling acquisition will be integrated into the new organization.
