SouthernLINC Wireless Chief Merits Outstanding Achievement Award From Rural Cellular Association

ATLANTA, May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rural Cellular Association (RCA) recently honored Bob Dawson, president and CEO of SouthernLINC Wireless, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO), with the 2011 RCA Outstanding Achievement Award.

The RCA Outstanding Achievement Award celebrates the efforts of an individual in the cellular telecommunications business that made extraordinary contributions to the industry and the RCA during the previous year.

RCA President and CEO Steven K. Berry presented Dawson with the award during the opening general session of RCA's 19th Annual Convention and Innovation Expo, which was held in Las Vegas.

The association, which represents wireless competitive carriers throughout the U.S., recognizes outstanding members with its Annual Achievement Awards. Honorees were selected from member nominations, and awards in five categories were presented this year.

Dawson currently serves on RCA's board of directors, a position he has held since 2007. He also has chaired the trade group's Nominating Committee for Carrier Members for three years.
