BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SparkFun Electronics (www.sparkfun.com), a provider of parts knowledge and passion for electronics creation, will host its first annual Open House at its Boulder, Colo. based headquarters. The event is open to the public and welcomes everyone – especially those with an interest in embedded electronics who have a curiosity and passion for invention and imagination.
The event is planned as a way to show the public a glimpse into SparkFun and its passion and encouragement for the world of electronics creation and invention. In addition to holding workshops, conducting building tours, and giving away free products and swag, there will be a multitude of entertainment options, such as bouncy castles, an obstacle course, a circus artist and free food from Top of the Hill Grill West. In addition, there will be a project showcase where students, customers, SparkFun employees and the DIY community at large will show off their embedded electronics projects.
"This event is a great way to promote and encourage the electronics inventor community while getting an opportunity to meet with customers, employees' families and like-minded DIY enthusiasts, old and new," said Director of Marketing AnnDrea Boe. "We also look forward to engaging with people who have never even heard of SparkFun and showing them what we are all about. It's going to be a great event."
Because the Open House is taking place just slightly more than a week before Halloween, attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and prizes will be given for the best-dressed. The Open House starts at 11 a.m. at SparkFun's headquarters in Boulder and will end at 4 p.m. For more details or to register as an attendee, please visit the Open House announcement link at (http://www.sparkfun.com/news/671).
