MILWAUKEE, Sept. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 12, Spectrum Investment Advisors returned to Kinship Urban Farm for its second annual Volunteer Day—an inspiring hands-on experience rooted in one of Spectrum's guiding principles: "We Give Back."
This year's efforts focused on preparing the soil for the next growing cycle. Spectrum team members spent the day tilling soil and planting over 300 seeds inside Kinship's hoop house, laying the groundwork for fresh produce that will directly support the community. Before arriving, the team organized an internal food drive, collecting pantry staples requested by Kinship's food distribution center.
Kinship Community Food Center, located in Milwaukee, is a nonprofit dedicated to food accessibility, urban farming, and community connection. Through its farm and pantry, Kinship provides fresh, nutritious food to neighbors in need while fostering dignity and shared purpose. Volunteers can get involved by signing up for work on the farm, food distribution, or meal preparation at Kinship's volunteer page.
The day's impact extended beyond planting. Some Spectrum volunteers stayed to assist shoppers and help prepare a community meal using produce harvested that same day—bringing new meaning to "farm-to-table." The freshness and immediacy of the food served was a powerful reminder of how small actions can lead to big change.
This year's event was so successful that Kinship selected Spectrum as the pilot program to model future corporate volunteer days. The goal: inspire other businesses to roll up their sleeves and experience the joy and impact of community service.
"We believe in the power of teamwork—not just in the office, but in the community," said Angelica Niemann, Marketing Manager at Spectrum Investment Advisors.
The day concluded with a reflection circle, where team members shared personal takeaways and stories from the experience. Spectrum Investment Advisors is proud to support Kinship's mission and encourages other organizations to get involved.
