Spinnaker and Southco to co-present on Inventory Optimization at the LLamasoft SummerCon conference

HOUSTON, June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Spinnaker, a leading provider of supply chain consulting and returns management solutions, announced today a joint speaking engagement with client Southco at the LLamasoft supply chain design conference, SummerCon, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. On June 25^th from 2:30-3:30 p.m., Spinnaker Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Consulting, John Sharkey, will co-present with Karen Hogan, the Global Director of Operational Excellence at Southco. The presentation will give an overview of how Southco is using the multi-echelon inventory optimization (MEIO) capabilities of LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru as part of its integrated monthly S&OP planning process. Initially, Southco partnered with Spinnaker to develop a strategic supply chain roadmap in the wake of significant growth. With increased market share and physical supply chain assets in North America, Europe, and Asia, Southco's supply chain became more complex and global. Efficiently aligning supply chain assets with customer demand across a large product portfolio was challenging, and Southco needed an effective way to plan inventory and implement postponement strategies across the global supply chain. One key initiative on the Southco roadmap was to select and implement an MEIO solution to optimize these decisions. After evaluating multiple vendors and choosing LLamasoft, a joint team of Spinnaker and LLamasoft consultants, together with Southco personnel, designed and deployed a Supply Chain Guru MEIO model integrated with SAP. The team also deployed a new global Inventory Planning business process.
