The expansion was driven by the company's continued strong growth and the resulting need for additional resource capacity to support its increasing client base particularly in its application/technical management services and project based consulting work. Staff within this office will act as support for the front-line operations folks located in the United States, United Kingdom, and Singapore.
Efforts to open the Spinnaker Support Global Technology Center (GTC) began in the second quarter of 2013. Significant growth in "net new" customers in SAP, JD Edwards and Siebel, increased interest in the Enhanced Maintenance offering which includes tax and regulatory compliance services, and a surge of new opportunities in Southeast Asia, all combined to trigger the need for an additional facility and resources. The Spinnaker Support GTC is located in the Powai section of Mumbai, which is considered to be the technology hub for the area. Powai is ideal for drawing the high-level talent required to service the worldwide client base of SAP, JD Edwards, and Siebel application users. The office will be led by Maurice D'Souza, a seasoned IT executive whose business acumen spans sales and marketing, operations management, business strategy, strategic alliances, and people management. D'Souza brings extensive experience to his role having spent 25 years with SYSTIME (now KPIT), a global IT consulting and product engineering company.
