SOUTH MIAMI, Fla., March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Splitsville Luxury Lanes and Dinner Lounge will be hosting their 1st Annual Sushi Chef Showdown on Wednesday, April 6th at 8 p.m. Splitsville is located at 5701 Sunset Drive in the Shops at Sunset Place.
Miami's top chefs will be competing for over $1000 in cash and prizes. The showdown is sponsored by South East Cutlery and Gekkeikan Sake. Chefs will be competing in two categories. The first category is Taste and Presentation. Chefs will be given a set amount of time to wow the judges with 1 maki roll of their own creation. This original roll will be judged on overall taste and presentation. The second category will be the Speed Round. Chefs will battle it out head to head. Two chefs at a time will be given 3 minutes to make as many rolls as possible, the winner will advance. Points will be awarded based on how they rank. The Grand Prize is $500, 2nd place is a $200 Sushi Knife and 3rd Place is $100.
